Porcelain Jasper Cabochon
A very simple Porcelain Jasper with nice lines on a mauve matrix.
Also becoming popular as Exotica or SciFi, this stone comes from Sonora Mexico.
This stone has a high gloss polish and a shallow domed top.
The edge is thin enough to wire wrap with four 22 guage wires and will produce a lovely piece of jewelry.
The size of this stone is a little bit larger than a nickle.

These cabs are cut with the intention of wire wrapping them. They will have a square edge of at least 1/32" to hold the wire. This applies to whether they are polished on one side or both sides. To borrow a term from our faceting friends, this edge will be referred to as the 'girdle'
