Banjo Creek
Banjo Creek is a fictitious place that just had a nice ring to it. It seems like it would be peaceful and conjures in my mind a relaxing place. Now, I don't play the banjo, but I did live on the 'Bark River' in Wisconsin for the early years of my life.
The name 'Banjo Creek' was copywritten by me when I had a graphic arts business and it is generic enough to stick with me as I am now doing Lapidary, jewelry and rocks.
Besides, I like the name 'Banjo Creek', and even though it has nothing to do with rocks, lapidary or jewelry at all, it is, after all, a name, and it sure beats a name like 'AAA Rocks and stuff' or, 'Acme Lapidary' and stones.
{Apologies to 'AAA Rocks and stuff' and 'Acme Lapidary', if they do, indeed exist.}

Rock Tumbling and more...
This is where we are at currently. The joy of rock tumbling, cabbing and jewelry making.
There are very few people whose eye you can not catch with the shimmer of a polished 'Tiger eye' or the colors of a glossy cab of 'Jasper'. We find almost every one wants to examine it and feel its smoothness, and hold it up to the light.
And to have a whole handful of these jewels is akin to holding some of the riches of Egypt in the palm of your hand.
A whole fistful of jewels that all came about through your own patience and determination to unveil what God already knew was inside.
There is a definite attraction to these stones, and we have been bitten by the bug that has us scouring 'ebay' for rock tumbler deals and different varieties of stones. Doing endless 'Google searches' for grit and polish. Trying to find one better deal after another to pass the time as we wait for the seven day cycle to come to completion when we can rinse and clean, and proudly offer a "peek" to anyone interested in viewing the polished product of weeks of patience.
Thanks-
A special thanks to Mark at Rocktumblinghobby.com for the bulletin board that keeps us inspired.
And thanks to Pdwight for his knowledge and my very first 'real' rock tumbler.
And also to 'sandsman1' for his advice and willingness to take a few of my extra rocks off of our hands for us.
A special thanks to all the people at the "Board" for answers to all of my questions, and the good advice I have received!
Thanks to Scott Sheppard who took time out to design the Logo for Banjo Creek.
And most of all to my wife 'Jolyn' who shares my interest and passion for the beauty of Gods creation found in things as simple as 'rocks'.
Check this out for lots of Rock Tumbling information - Bulletin Board

About the way we do business...
We have been using e-Bay for over a 7 years now and thought it might be time to build our own web site. It is more personable and I am interested in the people I deal with, and I guess I believe they might have a bit of an interest in us. My positive feedback on e-bay remains at 100% and I have to suggest that we enjoy pleasing people and when they purchase something from us we are interested in their satisfaction. This is not a big 'money maker' for use, it is more of a craft, an art, a skill. we just would like to share it with others. If we can provide some rough rocks for you to tumble or a cab, or slab, or even a fine piece of jewelry, we am going to treat you the same way we would like to be treated and that to us is worth more than a purchase price, and that is our goal. Being Christians in this world also gives us a higher standard to maintain, and as God created man in His image we want to treat you as the special individual you are. You are the crown of His creation
Notes of approval from people we have dealt with.
"Hey Mike! The Citrine necklace with the gold wire is special to me not only for its beauty, but also for its uniqueness!"
"I'm sure my girlfriend will love it for Valentines Day. I'm looking forward to browsing your web site in the future! "
"Thanks Mike for the Love and Care you put into your work!"
-Anthony
