This is Charoite and there is only one place in the world where it can be found- Siberia. I was very happy to be able to design this and wrap it in silver for a Very Very Special person. That person is, my beautiful daughter living in Scotland. She like things that are not real gaudy and I did my best to keep it simple yet attractive. |

| The Joshua Tree forest is on your way from Wickenburg to the Burro Creek area, and what scrapbook doesn't have one of these shots in it? 'Tourist standing beside Cactus'. The area has acres of these trees that resemble something out of Dr. Suess, with a trunk like a tree and branches like a cactus. |

Blue Lace Agate aquired from a friend who had it shipped up from South Africa. Very nice baby blue color with a mirror finish and when held up to the light the clarity between the veins is outstanding. |

These cabs were made from material hauled down here from Burro Creek Arizona. This has become Jolyn and my favorite place to hunt rocks of all sorts. The purple is perhaps the most sought after and the dendretic next. There is agate galore in certain areas especially if you like the carmel colored and the patterned material. |

This is the field that the Gold/Yellow Jasper was collected. You can see the large amount of float laying about in any size you'd like. Tons of it! There is also some real nice pieces of Ruby Red Jasper to be found. The landscape alone is worth the 3 hour drive to get here.

Blue Jasper, polished to a nice sheen. That's the way I like it, If I don't get a shine like water, back it goes either for a longer time or a different polish. Sometimes even back to the 1000 grit step. |

Polished agate from Burro Creek. I am really liking this stuff because if you ever get to go up there, the variety of colors and patterns in the agate is just wonderful. I plan to make a few trips up that way, and hopefully bring back enough rock to share at a price that covers gas and Ben-gay. |

These cabs were cut by John at Bear Creek Lapidary. I wrapped them for a friend in New Mexico. Both stones are very beautiful, and I felt honored to be asked to do the wrapping. Done in 14K gold they look splendid. |

I have heard this called Leopardstone, Leopardskin stone, Leopard Jasper, and I guess you could mix the works up a bit more and get another name. I found this to be a tough one to polish because of the different hardnesses of the stone itself. So I polished it in Titanium oxide and the hardest areas came out shiny, then ran it again in Tin oxide and the softer parts held a shine. So after both polishes the stone came out with a very nice total shine. |

This is the three styles of crosses that I wire wrap. They can be varied as I may substitute the binding wire for gold or colored wire. Another interesting design is alternating silver and gold wire or using gold for the center most wires in the group. |

Sodalite wrapped in Silver done by request for a special friend. The blue and silver compliment each other and is one of those colors that many times looks better in a silver wrap than it does in a gold wire wrap.

Rock hunting outside of Payson Arizona yielded about 4 milk crates of nice fossil agate. If the wind and rain would not have started we would have probably gotten even more than that... Another day. |

Here is the fossil agate we got on our trip up to Payson, and my helpers washing off some of the mud and moss that covered it. It only took about 10 minutes for the little guy (Gideon) to be soaked from head to toe. You know 'little boys and hoses". |

Big chunk of Burro Creek Agate. The Toyota took a beating getting us there but it was fun as well as work collecting the five milk crates of stone. It has a wonderful carmel color with swirls and bands of gray and white, hints of blue and purple. You just never know till you get to see whats inside. |
